A day off wasn’t so uncommon but to have a day off and not be called into work was a rare commodity. For Warrick and Gil today was extra special because they both had the whole day off together.

“So Ricky is there anything you want to do today?”

Warrick smiled at Gil, “No. We’ve done everything that we needed to do so I guess today we can just sit here at home and watch TV or maybe nap.”

Gil smiled, “Ricky we just got out of bed. Do you really want to take a nap?”

Warrick laughed, “No but let’s keep the possibility open for later in the day.”

Gil nodded, “Sounds good.” He opened the cupboard and pulled down a coffee mug. Pouring himself a mug full of the coffee he took a long swallow. “Do you know what I miss most about work on my days off?”

Warrick looked at Gil and raised his eyebrow, “I feel afraid to ask but what?”

Gil smiled, “Greg.”

Warrick frowned his lover missed Greg on his days off, “Is that so?”

Gil laughed, “Greg’s coffee.” He leaned in close, “You’re the only love for me.”

Warrick slapped his Gil’s ass, “I better be.”

4 in the afternoon:

Gil laid on the couch watching a show on bugs. He smiled down at the mess of brown hair on his chest. “Warrick are you getting hungry?”

Warrick opened his eyes slowly, “What time is it?”

Gil looked at his watch, “Its about 4.”

Warrick shook his head, “I can’t believe no one has called us yet.”

“I told you that I told Catherine not to call us unless there was a major disaster. Catherine knows that we needed this day off.”

Warrick nodded. He was glad that they had friend like Catherine. She was always looking out for them. “We should do something nice for her.”

Gil nodded in agreement, “You still didn’t tell me if you’re hungry or not.”

Warrick shrugged, ‘I could eat.”

Gil slid out from under Warrick, “Alright I’ll see what we have to make and I’ll call you when it’s ready.” He looked back at Warrick and snickered.

Warrick was already back asleep on the couch.

                                                          &&&&&&&

Gil woke Warrick about an hour later for dinner, “Ricky its time to eat.”

Warrick blinked open his eyes, “Already?”

Gil laughed, “You’ve been a sleep for an hour.”

Warrick shook his head and yawned, “I’ve slept most of the day way.”

Gil nodded, “That you have Ricky that you have.” He stood and reached out a hand to Warrick, “Come on Ricky lets go eat. I made pasta.”

Warrick stood and followed Gil into the kitchen. He sat down at the table in his usual place. “This looks amazing.” He eyed the garlic bread and fettuccini. “You’ve out done your self baby.”

Gil blushed, “Its nothing Ricky. Its just noodles and bread.”

The couple ate in relative silence.

Gil finished off his food and watched as Warrick ate, “Its only five is there anything else you want to do?”

Warrick looked up from his food and smiled, “I would like to do a little dancing.”

Gil frowned, “You want to go out?”

Warrick wiped his mouth on the linen napkin Gil had laid out. “Did I say that?” He smiled and got up from the table. Walking into the living room he turned on their stereo to the light jazz station. It was there favorite station.

Back in the kitchen Gil smiled and got up from the table. He walked into the living room. What he saw stopped him still. He couldn’t believe that this man wanted him. The man could have had anyone but he choose to have him.

Warrick held out his hand to Gil. “Dance with me?”

Gil took Warrick’s hand and stepped up close to him. He looked up into the soulful green eyes, “I love you Warrick.”

Warrick wrapped his lean long arms around Gil’s waist, “I love you too.”

As the couple swayed to the music it was as if the world didn’t exist upside of their small home.

Warrick laid his head on top of Gil’s, “This has been the best day off.”

Gil snuggled into Warrick, “I’ve never had anything better.”

THE END.
